Size Guide

Hey Girl, we know shopping for intimates is, well, intimate. We also know it’s tough choosing sizes because sizing varies between brands. But don’t fret; down below we’ve listed the many variations and also some advice to ensure you end up with the right fit!

If you have a specific sizing question or would like more info, please contact us.

The charts below show how brands from different countries label their bras, underwear, sleepwear, loungewear and hosiery. There is significant variation between brands, so this is only general guidance.

Band Size

Note: When choosing a band size, ensure that the band fits straight (90degree angle) and low along the back (see picture). The band should fit snug enough to fit one finger underneath.

Common mistake! A lot of crucial bra mistakes start with the band.

Most women will pick a bigger band size and they will put it on the tightest hook thinking it will fit better…but it’s actually how people end up wearing the wrong size, because they don’t realize that over time, the bra is going to stretch.

So…once you find the correct band size, you must start wearing it on the outermost hook and work your way inward as the band stretches (again, even on the outermost hook it should be snug). This will extend the life of your bra.

Cup Size

Like band size, the cup size too differs slightly depending on each country.

Generally, your cup size can be calculated by subtracting your under-bust measurement from your over-bust measurement. The over-bust measurement is taken from the torso over the fullest part of the breasts, with the crest of the breast halfway between the elbow and shoulder, usually over the nipples.

Common Mistake! We like to say that our breasts are like sisters…not twins. Your breast size changes and fluctuates throughout the year, and most women have one breast that's bigger than the other — so you shouldn't obsess over a number. Instead, focus on fit.

Helpful Hint:

The cup should lay flat against the body. If there is gaping at the top of the cup, you probably need to try another style or go down a cup size. If your breasts are bulging out of the top of the cup, you need to go up a size.

Bordelle

The majority of Bordelle lingerie styles are constructed to allow the wearer a significant level of adjustment. Each garment is finished with 18-22 carat gold plated hardware (up to 60 individual gold plated components on longline bodice bras), making the multitude of adjustable straps not only a unique design but also a functionality feature that is characteristic to Bordelle.

Bras have been designed with aesthetic and functionality in mind. The adjustment in each style allows you to personalise your bra to the correct fit and also means that the bras will fit across a number of different back sizes. Most notably, Longline bras and Crop tops can be adjusted by an additional 20 cm to the standard hook & eye adjustment.

Please refer to the measurement chart below to find your corresponding size.

Briefs and thongs are available in sizes S M L, with more adjustable styles sized S/M and M/L.
